Yesterday's vision arrived precisely on time and glanced quickly around the room before finding a seat near the front. Greg couldn't tell if had noticed him, but he was filled with a happy and tender feeling as he looked down at the back of her head from his usual spot near the rear door. She seemed vulnerable in some way. Maybe it was how she sat there with her head neither held proudly high or sullenly low, but steady and quiet, just waiting for information.Then her shoulders tensed, and she turned her head just a bit, with a look on her face as if she were sensing something. Greg felt as though his heart stopped for a second or two as the girl turned in her seat and looked directly at him as if she had discerned that he'd been observing her closely. He sat blinking and returned her look, hoping he didn't appear as dumbfounded as he felt. She gave him a quick smile and turned back around.
