This book shows us how to have a life-changing encounter with God. We give below a few paragraphs from this helpful book. Intimacy with Jeus is the focus of this book.

NUMBER ONE KEY!

"In the early 1970s, while in the military, I was stationed at Wong Tong Nee, Korea, where I visited Dr. Paul Cho's (comparatively small) 'Revival Center at Sodaemoon,' as it was called. Now their members number over 750,000! Back then I saw about two thousand people praying, rocking back and forth and crying out to the Lord. They were so caught up and so impassioned for Christ that their pursuit of the presence of God humbledme. Over two decades later when I visited again, they were stillpraying with passion. On that trip, Dr. Cho taught me a painful lesson as we sat together in a restaurant in downtown Seoul.

" 'Tell me, Pastor Cho,' I said earnestly, leaning across the table toward him. "What is the number one key to having an effective ministry across the globe?'

" 'Brother,' he said in his beautifully accented English, 'you must understand that you cannot help Jesus Christ, but you can hinder Him. Jesus sees your ministry. He wants to show you His.'

"I returned to my hotel room with my gears stripped. I can't help Jesus? But I thought I was one of the good guys who helped Him! Isn't it Satan who hinders Jesus? I have begun to understand what Dr. Cho knew: Although we ask God to remove the barriers to our prayers, self is the biggest hindrance." (pages 20-21)

BEING WITH JESUS, DAY BY DAY!

"We'll never be with Jesus in His present, supernatural power unless we embrace His Cross. Many Christians shun it, calling it "legalism," but still rejoice int he revelation that we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. How we are going to become more than conquerors? Can we conquer without the Cross? No chance. We msut die to the flesh, accept the ministry of Christ, and move into Spirit-spirit contact."

"Being with Jesus is not about playing the part of a Christian soldier--it's about being the part. Being with Christ cannot be reduced to a quick session where we pick up the Bible, write in a journal, pray, and then leave. We must become consciously aware taht in every second of our lives, with every breath we take, adn with every beat of our hearts, we are part of Christ."

"We must not close our Bibles and walk away from our quiet time with a smug feeling that we're "done," crossing it off our list for the day. ... " (pages 138-139)
